Research and Business Creation

Our Mission at Shonan Innovation Research Lab

The Shonan Innovation Research Lab is taking on innovation toward creating new businesses.

For many years, we at the MANAC Chemical Partners (MCPs) group have worked to refine our organic synthesis technologies in the pharmaceuticals and electronic materials fields, with a particular focus on bromination and iodination technologies, through which we provide chemical intermediates.

However, the issues that society looks to the chemicals industry for solutions are growing increasingly complex, and demands for faster and higher-level research and development to produce solutions are expanding. Furthermore, countless changes currently taking shape will prove challenging to handle through current business models, including transformations in industrial structures such as those brought on by the shift toward electric vehicles, measures to address global warming caused by human economic activities, and global trends such as the breakaway from fossil fuels and issues related to resources.

Accelerating innovation will require us to combine our resources with other corporations and research institutions, including research personnel, technologies, and information. MCPs aim to redefine “chemicals” in broader terms and build chemicals-based partnerships, led by the Shonan Innovation Research Lab, with players from a wider range of fields. We will endeavor to solve social issues with the new value we create through innovation.
